New 2.0 Version of Free Traffic Getting SEO Plugin For WP

August 19th, 2009 · 65 Comments

tweet_this

I just released the my brand new Traffic-Getting SEO Plugin Version 2.0 for Wordpress!

And it’s still 100% Free

Version 2.0  includes new “total control” features that allow you to pick and choose which features of the wp plugins you’d like to keep, and which ones you don’t.

It’s also much more “existing blog” friendly… we added a new feature that helps preserve your incoming links by rewriting your permalinks and issuing a search engine friendly 301 redirect… if you don’t know what that means then I guess it really doesn’t matter to you but trust me… it’s really, really good :)

It’s easy to use, and it installs in just minutes… and it’s 100% free.

If you have already downloaded the software before:

Check your inbox for the new download links and new passwords…

Here’s a tip: use your desktop search feature to find the keyword “seoblog” in an email I just sent out a day or two ago. Once you find that email, you’ll find the new password and download link.

If you can’t find the new passwords in your inbox… chances are you  aren’t on my Traffic-Getting SEO Plugin Mailing List...

Join my Traffic Getting SEO mailing list here and I’ll send you a copy for free:

Thanks again jeff! I love your tools.

  • Elwin Valberg

I never have understood what a website is, maybe you can straighten that out for me. As far as your traffic getting module goes, it sounds like something I should have had about five months ago. It looks real good.

Hi Jeff, quick question. Do I have to upgrade to WP 2.8 before installing the new version of the TG plug-in?

    Thanks!!
    Tracy

Jeff Johnson: You need 2.7 or above.

    This should help http://www.undergroundtraininglab.com/tgsp-install/

  • Zulfikar

Awesome plugin Jeff, have the previous version and thanks for new one :)

@Tracy – You should alway keep you wordpress installation upto date, 2.8 is an improvement on 2.7 but 2.8.1 to 2.8.3 had some volnurabilities which were fixed by 2.8.4

  • Odini

    Thanks, Great Plugin

  • Robert

    Jeff,
I’m not clear on the new “permalink migrator” plugin. I had set a blog up and installed your SEO traffic getting plugin, before this upgrade….BUT have not made a post yet.
Do I need to install this plugin? or only for existing blogs with posts?
    Thanks.

Jeff Johnson: If you haven’t made any posts on the old blog there is nothing to “preserve” so upgrade to 2.0.

The new 2.0 version will work on existing blogs by redirecting old incoming links to the new ones if you change the permalink structure.

It will also issue a 301 redirect to the engines for the old link, and a 200 for the new link.

Check to make sure the links work properly after upgrading.

  • Badaruzzaman

    Hi Jeff,

Thanks so much for this awesome plugin.
It will be completed my making money online portal site.

    thx

    Hi,

Thank you very much for the update. You never seem to run out of innovation and you do care for your subscribers.

Thanks Jeff! Got it installed so I’ll see what happens over time.

    Hi Jeff,

Great stuff, thanks so much – a couple of questions. I am with godaddy for the moment – no cpanel. I searched for how to do the ioncube manually and it says I can insert a line of text into the php.ini file – can you give me a tip on that? Would editing the php.ini file be all I’d need to do for the ioncube?

Also – I wanted to blog about your SEO plugin, and was wondering about your affiliate program. I clicked on your affiliate links, but am getting an error message.

    Thanks,
    Carina

Jeff Johnson: php.ini files can be tricky so asking your host for help is best; especially since a lot of people have reported issues with godaddy and the ioncube situtation.

Here’s the link for my joining my affiliate program: http://JVwithJeffJohnson.com

  • Gabrielle

Could you say it is for Wordpress from the beginning, please. It would save a lot of time.

  • Carina

    Thanks Jeff,

I was on the phone with godaddy last night and they wouldn’t/couldn’t help me with the ioncube, saying it was a 3rd party app and they don’t help with that. Needless to say I was disappointed with them. I’ll be moving my site to GVO soon and they have cpanel so it should be fine. I’m looking forward to using your plugin.

Thanks for the link to your affiliate program, I just signed up :)

Jeff Johnson: You are welcome :)

  • Barry

Jeff, I really do not understand what this plug-in does for my blog. I have the previous version, but I have no clue what it does or how it works. How is it supposed to provide traffic to my blog?

Jeff Johnson: You have to provide the content and the keywords.

The Traffic-Getting SEO Plugin helps pre-configure a handful of other plugins that are proven traffic getters; they optimize your blog to attract the search engines.

The Traffic Gettign SEO Plugin makes it easier to install them, it preconfigures them to my proven SEO specifications, and we test them to make sure they do what they say they do.

The new version adds functionality such as permalink migrations (301 redirects) so if you have existing incoming links to your blog and you wish to change your permalink strucutre, it helps remap those links in an seo friendly way.

The new TSPG version also make it even easier to reverse the changes it makes one-by-one so you can pick and choose which of the plugins are activated on your blog.

  • Saul

    Jeff,

You seem to have a major tech glitch tonight with this new free version. On my 50+ blogs that are still using the previous free version, they didn’t notice when your website here went down earlier tonight.

However, the 5 blogs that I upgraded your plugin on yesterday all were completely broken at the same time your site went down tonight, which I noticed only 1 hour ago, at 10PM CST.

Both the front-end of those 5 blogs and the back end were slowed to a multi-minute crawl, but when I did get any page to load, the error at the top of the screen was:

Warning: fopen(http://www.undergroundtraininglab.com/tgsp-version.txt) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! in /home/me/public_html/domain.com/wp-content/plugins/seo-blog/core.php on line 0

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/me/public_html/domain.com/wp-content/plugins/seo-blog/core.php on line 0

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/me/public_html/domain.com/wp-content/plugins/seo-blog/core.php on line 0

-So I disabled those plugins, and they work fine again.

Now that your website is back up, I am afraid that I simply don’t want to link the health of my websites to yours again anyway. Can you fix/explain this?

Thanks for an otherwise awesome plugin,
    Saul

Jeff Johnson: Thanks for the heads up on this!

Your blogs are not dependent on my server in general.

The only time it is, and just for a few seconds, is when you are logged into the admin panel and it does a version check… just like wordpress itself does.

If you weren’t logged into the admin panel nothing would happen.

And even then the time your blog would be down would be dependent on your servers php timeout, which is normally 30 seconds by default.

However, we are currently revising the version checker to stop checking if it doesn’t get a response in 3 milli-seconds, just like wp.

And we are moving the version check funtionality to the amazon s3 “cloud computing” service to avoid any downtime at all.

Thanks again for the heads up!

  • SeoNext

This version is really great .It has some extra features thats help us to analysze more.Nice Post.

  • Warren

    Hi,

Really appreciate you putting this out there.

With this software, what kind of SERPs volume should we be targeting for keywords? What kind of SERPs volume is it most suited to dominating? I know it’s most likely about scale and you can dominate just about anything if you have enough of that, but for the guy at home, not yet ready to outsource too much, what is the target volume phrase/broad results I should be looking to dominate with this software and method?

    Thanks a lot. Best,

    Warren

Jeff Johnson: Great questions.. but It’s not a question of serps volume since that is really a crock… those numbers are all over the place with the engines and aren’t really indicitive of how hard some markets can be versus others.

It’s more a question of profitability that drives the competition in any market.

More ads, more profits, more people trying to capture the top spots.

Also, long term top rankings are more a result of incoming links and multiple listings than on-page factors.

So… I use it for serp volume of all levels and worry more about off page factors… the tougher the market, the more off page work I’ll need to do.

  • The Daily Bragger

Unistalled your plugin on over 20 of my sites. It gave an error about the ion cube. Google indexed my sites while this error was in effect and now all the SEO is ruined.

    Big error.

Jeff Johnson: First, don’t worry, you can’t ruin the seo of a site with a single error message seen by google. It can take google multiple visits to an error page to be removed from the serps. I have had sites down for days and it didn’t “ruin the seo”.

Second, the ioncube error is a more of a server error (a falied php extension) that we discuss in the installation instructions. It’s at the very top and is in a bright red box so you can’t miss it.
    http://www.undergroundtraininglab.com/tgsp-install/

It’s not tecnically the plugin itself but rather a server extension not allowing the plugin to execute.

Very easy to fix. Just read the instructions and you should be able to fix it within minutes on most hosts.

    It’s a very rare occurrence.

Better yet, contact your host and ask them to take care of it for you.

  • Paul

Thanks! I have this on my blog and I works wonders!

    Paul.

  • Adam

If you had the previous version plugin will it update automatically? If not then how can we get it in our email if we are already signed up with you?

Jeff Johnson: It won’t update automatically, and I sent out the new passwords twice recently. So always save the info in the newest emails I send about new passwords.

I’ll be resending the passwords again in the next day or two.

  • Nancy

    Just a quick note.

Regarding uploading files (images) to my
    BLOG.

I created the “upload” directory and
changed its permissions to 777. Anything
less and it can’t upload any files.

So that problem is solved now.

But seems strange that it existed at all.

    Nancy

Jeff Johnson: The entire issue seems to based on permissions. Your hosting provider can help you there; they will also tell you if you permission are too liberal… inviting hacks.

  • Jan Banis

    Hi Jeff

Thanks for the great plugin. However…

I actually have to professional version of the plugin. I kinda thought I didnt need to use the free version anymore, but now Im a bit confused, and your helpdesk didnt seem to know much more either, apart from saying that the 301 redirect thingy is good.

Do I now need to go change all blogs where I installed the prof. version and use the free version instead? And/or do I need to use the free version on new blogs? That would be kinda weird as the prof. would presumably be “better”?

Thanks for clearing this up for me.

Also now I think of it…is there an easy way to just copy a wordpress blog with your plugin installed and use it with another blog, without having to go through manual install everytime?

    Thanks again!

    Jan

Jeff Johnson: the professoinal version of Traffic Getting SEO Plugin is always more current, and more powerful than the free version.

Members of my coaching club can download the newest professional version at all times.

    .

  • Bryan Short

    Hey Jeff,

Thanks for all your hard work. Just installed this on a new blog but for some reason when I am writing a post the little button to insert a link went way.

It’s still there but its that lighter color and clicking it doesn’t do anything. If I want to put a link in a post and this little link button went down how do I fix it?

    Thanks again,

    Bryan

Jeff Johnson: sorry, but I haven’t seen that one before. It could be caused by one of the plugins, but the only way to know which one is to deactivate each one… one by one.

This may sound silly but… also make sure that you have highlighted the text you wish to turn into a link before clicking the link button… just checking :)

  • Jan Banis

I see, thanks Jeff. The thing is, I got your professional version as a bonus for buying a product through your link, and have no idea how I could get the newest version of the plugin, because it wasnt as part of your coaching club.

So how can someone who got the prof.version download the most up-to-date version? If you dont wanna reveal this here, then maybe leave me a quick email?

    Thanks so much!

Jeff Johnson: I’ll pass your info along to my team and they’ll let you know if the bonus version has been updated.

  • alex

    hi,

i posted this before but seems to be gone. my problem is the latest plugin upgrade i installed is causing me to get knocked out of my wp-admin every time i try to log in. it seems to try to go to the ‘free traffic plugin’ page in my wp and then i get this error:

    alex

Jeff Johnson: Sorry, We are having DNS issues with our new server. Working on fixing it.

  • ignacio

i like to know how to insert the ads to my website

Jeff Johnson: It all depends on the type of site you are inserting them in and isn’t really something I can cover in a comment response.

Just insert the ad code in your blog’s theme, your websites html code, or templates.

Here is an openx tutorial for setting up an ad networkopenx tutorial

  • Ewen

    Hi guys,

My Wordpress installer has come up with this problem…” it does not decode with ioncube”

Gave him instuctions from hostmonster and yours, yet still comes up blank.

    Any help please?

    All the best,

    Ewen

Jeff Johnson: I’d ask hostmonster to look at it for you.

  • Tom Smart

I rarely recommend products from marketers but this really works thank you Jeff.
I have no hesitation in letting everyone know about this great plugin
    best regards
    Tom Smart

  • Byron McDade

Just wondered if there was a problem with my previous post?

I do not see it here. Too long? Not approved?

    Thanks,
    Byron

Jeff Johnson: I certainly appreciate the efforts but I looked at it at least 6 times before finally deciding to delete it.

I was afraid that it would cause too many other issues for my readers.

Not to mention… Only a very, very small percentage of people even have this issue with their hosting account.

I’m of the opinion that the easiest, and best way to deal with it, would be to contact your hosting provider to fix it for you, or move to another host.

That’s what I do, and that’s what I recommend my readers do.

Hosting is cheap, and life is too short :)

    Thanks again for the update!

  • Byron McDade

No problem. I do love your plugin now that I got it to work! I didn’t even try with the first version because all of my accounts were hosted with GoDaddy.

Now I am more diversified, but am really happy that I found the way to make it work on GoDaddy…makes my life simpler.

    Thanks for a great plugin!

    Byron

And it only works with Wordpress? I hate Wordpress.

I sure to love the education it has me pretty fired up and ready to go. Only thing is I’m running into glitches… I’ve subscribed several times because I haven’t yet seen the seo program or any of the programs that were supposed to be sent. What am I doing wrong can someone help me? is there a phone I can call for support? So sorry, just would bring the ideas to light.

  • Suzanne of New Affiliate Discoveries

Hi Jeff, I saw you speak at Mass Control in SC in April, I love your message. I tried this plugin, not sure if I’ll stick with it, but I had a specific question about settings. Why do you recommend using the post-id/post-name rather than using category in the permalinks? Ed Dale recommends using the category name in the URL. THanks for any insight.

Jeff Johnson: One size never fits all. Category is nice except even the wp guys recommend that you don’t do it for performanc reasons, and I don’t use it for the free plugin since it could cause an issue with keyword stuffing in the url

But if you know what you are doing…. it’s fine to choose the one you like best.

  • Paul Koeppel

I’m using a redirect plugin in my blog and have pages that automatically redirect to another URL.
After I hit the Apply Blog Tweaks Option some of these no longer are working.
It is now looking for a URL that begins with my intended URL but ends with ShareandEnjoy: and thus not found.
Just wondering if you are aware of this and if something can be done to correct.

  • Paul Koeppel

    Update to post # 43:
I just deactivated the Sociable plugin and all is working fine now.
Perhaps we can locate which feature was causing the incorrect URL creation so I can use the plugins your software suggests?
Would just tweak it differently then.

  • Peter

I think the correct phrase for search in people’s mailboxes should be “seo blog” instead of “seoblog”. “seoblog” doesn’t find any email in my mailbox

Jeff Johnson: No, the correct phrase is “seoblog”.

  • Lane

    Hi Jeff,

Thanks again for your new version of TGBS.

I see suggested permalink structure is /%post_id%/%postname%/.

Now this is probably a dumb question, since this is the way you do it, but I was thinking leaving off the %post_id% might be better for SEO purposes as the url name very often will rank you high especially for less competitive keywords.

    Any thoughts?

    Lane

Jeff Johnson: WP recommends that you use it for operational efficiency, and they also suggest you don’t use category in your permalink structure.

    Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don’t.

But I have to design TGSP to apply to most circumstances for most people, and it works.

But TGSP allows you to modify the structure if you’d like.

  • Brian

Recently read that adding %blog_title% to all your posts can potentially hurt your Google rankings. This is the default setting for All in One SEO, which I have installed so thought I’d test this out by removing it. After doing so I noticed that Traffic Getting showed that 7 ops were then available. So I’m guessing you’re of a different opinion?

Jeff Johnson: that depends on how you use it, and it’s location in the title.

It also depends on keyword choices, density, etc.

And some people like to actually brand their sites.

Having a blog title in your title tags can actually help your rankings.

So as long as it’s not the first thing in your title tag, I’m ok with using it.
But TGSP is designed for flexibility so you may change it if you’d like.

  • Ed Baker

    Hi Jeff,
I really like the bottom loading pop-up for your TGSP. Is the pop-up software/code/plugin available somewhere?

Jeff Johnson: That custom coding by my guys. But if you look around you’ll be able to find programs that do the same, but i’ve never tested them.

  • ipanks

thank you very much.i will check my email now and try your plugin update.i hope this will give a good news for me.

  • catherine hamer

    Hi Jeff,

It was an amazing webinar you put on with Gauther loved it full of information. I have joined this mailing list but haven’t received the SEO plugin software ? is it me!

    kind regards
    catherine

Jeff Johnson: Did you confirm your request to be on the list? If so, the software download link is in the first email. If not, check your inbox and such for the confirmation email and confirm your request.

  • IMBlogger

Omg.. couldn’t believe my own eyes after trying your SEO software foc! How regrettably stupid of me to purchase several SEO softwares from asian or chinese marketers! Been charged worse pennies for useless stuffs compared to your awesome that is even not charged to everyone else. I really wish to know about this earlier. Good work!

  • Brett

Will this work with Amaniche(paid plugin for Amazon product drip feed?

Jeff Johnson: Don’t know, but it works with most plugins so you should test it.

  • Arul

    thank you for your support

  • ted

    Hello,

where can I find a link to the professional version of your traffic getting seo plugin?

  • rheyanna

    Hey Jeff,

Awesome plugin,I used your original SEO software and the first plugin was a great improvement for functionality.
    Sweet job Anthony:)

I have just installed the 2.0 version of the plugin and in is not fetching the plugins on it’s own.
Searched for plugin’s manually and could not find them all.
Is it possible to put a resource somewhere so that others can find them easily if they have this problem?

Thanks for all the great work you do and all the resources you provide.
    Rheyanna

Jeff Johnson: I’m not sure it’s a complete list since we’ve added some funtionality recently, but you’ll find a list here
    http://www.undergroundtraininglab.com/tgsp-install/

Anthony hasn’t been involved with the last few versions, including the major upgrade about to come out, but he does love his wp and it shows :)

    • rheyanna

      Hey Jeff,

If they where clickable it would help.

I searched through the plugins and there are alot of them for each option, so I picked the ones that look the closest and the software does not recognize them.
      Thanks again,
      Rheyanna

  • rheyanna

    Thanks again Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
I downloaded the software but was not able to install the plugins…So I deleted them and redownloaded the software but this time the folder is missing ioncube..all of the other info is there..so I need to know what the value of ioncube is.
    Kind regards
    Denise

Jeff Johnson: You need ioncube or it won’t work, but you can download it directly from ioncube after you make sure your host is properly configured for ioncube.Should all be in the installation instructions.

  • Ransy

Hi Jeff and happy New Year

I have Traffic Getting SEO PluginTM 2.0 – Free Version on my blog site and I tried to install the free-traffic-getting-seo-2.0.3 but I get these messages

    Destination folder already exists.
    Plugin Install Failed

I also updated my WordPress from 2.8.xxx to 2.9. in December and after that my post are not Pinging. I tried to send support ticket to MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer but they don’t support those who have free version.

    Hope you can help
    Thanks Ransy

Jeff Johnson: It sounds like you either did not delete the old installation as per our installation instructions, or you had a failed install attempt that created some folders but not all of them. You can’t install wp over existing wp folder.

Please follow the directions here: http://www.undergroundtraininglab.com/tgsp-install/

As for the ping plugin…. we don’t have control over that so you’ll have to find an answer with them, or simply deactivate the ping plugin and let the standard ping occur via wp.

    Jeff Johnson:

  • Ransy

    Hi Jeff
I few days ago I downloaded the new version of Traffic Getting SEO 2.0.3 now when I login to my blog I get message that (there’s a new version of Traffic Getting SEO PluginTM 2.0 – Free Version (2.0.3.1) available!) is this a newer version then I have?

    Thanks
    Ransy

Jeff Johnson: 2.0.3.1 is a bug fix. If you had problems getting the plugins to load, or with google analyticator then this version will fix those issues. if not, you should be fine.

  • Matt Plourd

Wow jeff i feel like such a free loader…you have taught me so much and i cant wait to make this work..i haven’t had the money to purchase anything from you, but i have linked (through your link )to host gator for the 2 small sites i have bought. someday i promise to buy something from you, i owe at least that!
I want to start a blog….can you tell me the difference between your free seo blog software and the free wordpress blog they offer at wp? Please know i am just starting and i mean NO disrespect..I owe you a ton, you are a wealth of knowledge and i thank you for all you do !

Jeff Johnson: My software adds functionality and SEO to the free wp download via plugins and pre-configurations. As for the wp.com hosted blogs.. you can’t use any of your own plugins (including tgsp) with that service. But there’s a place in SEO for using the hosted wp.com blogs since they rank well, I prefer to control my own “money” sites, though, so I install wp on my own hosts.

Glad you are finding my stuff useful!

  • Ishak Mt Som

If after that I visit the site, I can see the post heading but on clicking will get this:
” The requested URL /14/xxxxxxx/ was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered”

Only the “About” page was actually published . Have using the recommended permalink structure with “Permalink Migrator” anything to do with my posting problems, because incidentally it happened after that.

I appreciate your views and advice on this. The expertwordpress and TGSP are all new installs. I have been using the earlier TGSP and expertwordpress in other blogs and all were well. Thank you.

Problem resolved. Reinstalling expertWP and installing another weblog using fantastico met with the same problem. I reset permalinks to default and all those 404 messages for posts and pages disappeared.

However the “fatal error” message still appeared in the dashboard of the original blog and not the later.

To install WP 2.9.1 I had to force 1and1 hosting to PHP5 and then had to create an entirely new database, copying from mysql 4 to mysl 5.

    Nightmare.
Had to reinstall all WP plugins.

With yours, I now get this message when I try to activate it:
Site error: the file /homepages/45/d109398608/htdocs/eesb-wp/wp-content/plugins/seo-blog/core.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so to be installed by the site administrator.

    WTF.

Jeff Johnson: 1and1 did the same to us, but they have some of the best support, and most reliable servers out there so we just picked up another server from them :)

You (or they) need to reactivate the php ioncube loader on the server because of their php update.

Here are some tutorials about it: http://www.undergroundtraininglab.com/tgsp-install/
