I love your Blog Software and I have to admit, when I first saw this land in my inbox my heart, though glad to hear it, sank a bit at first afraid that I would have to undo all my installations and upgrade! Sounds fantastic and I can’t wait to use this on my Newport TN Computer Services blog.
Sounds like a good path to take. It would be so much quicker and easier to use fantastico in your cpanel to launch a blog and then upload a plugin and then edit your templates to juice them up.
I altered brian gardners optimized theme to have the content on the left and meta stuff on the right just to give the spiders the content first. But I don’t really know if that will make a difference. I think mostly it’s no-follow on unimportant stuff and then getting your title and h1 tags right that will make a difference. What do you think?
Jeff Johnson says: no follow only applies if you are concerned about pagerank. I personally don’t waste too much time on pagerank. content and incoming links are more important.

The “under construction” refers to the first ‘real’ site I’ve done, and I just started it today, using your free SEO WP platform.
This new ‘plug-in’ – will it be something I can use with the platform you’ve already got out, or do you recommend that I build the site from the latest release of WP & wait for your new plug-in & apply it then?
Also, following your direction as to domain name selection – I have 6 domain names I would love to test with ad words, as you’ve said can be done – do you have anything (written or video) that shows how to do the testing?

Jeff Johnson says: the plug in is backwards compatible with most of the newer wordpress versions, but not all.
If you haven’t updated in awhile you’ll need to update wordpress to 2.7.

But the new Traffic Getting SEO Plugin could be ready in a few weeks or sooner.
If purchased a Review Style WP Blog and wonder if that plugin (or any other SEO plugin) will change my site design in any way.
If the plugin is mainly tags, then I guess it’s just invisible code .
Am I wrong ?
And some other question. YOUR themes in the Free SEO Software are somehow limited. How would you customize the look the easiest way ?
Can I only replace the header, and change some colors and then I’m done?

I installed your original version, which uses WP V2.5, if I recall. However, one of my other blogs with that version got hacked, upgrading to the newest release of WP got rid of that problem. However, when I tried upgrading your SEO-ed version with the latest V2.7, the result was a complete mess. After spending more than 2 hours trying to fix it, I gave up, deleted the whole thing, and moved the articles to Blogger.
If you can make your SEO changes such that they work automatically with any version of WP, and can be upgraded without destroying everything, then there is value there. If not…
Jeff Johnson says: That’s why our installation and traiing materials warn you not to upgrade wordpress directly, only use our updates… to avoid such problems.
However, this new solution should solve any wp upgrade issues.

If you are mean the Thesis theme for wordpress… then yes, it should work.
It should work with any theme, same as Free SEO Blog Software.

There is a lot of SEO scripts for WP. What makes Traffic-Getting SEO Plugin better than the others?
It is confusing all the different plugins available for wordpress. Also all the different themes make it even more confusing.

Jeff – that free pluggin is fantastic I must say – congratulations! One thing I’d like to ask is on my main wp-admin, down the bottom are pluggin suggestions – are they your pluggin suggestions as the originial suggestions yr pluggin suggested were on another page – Well anyway, my blog is very basic and only getting maybe 10-20 hits a day – after just 1 day after i installed it (yesterday), I now have over 800 hits to my blog – like, that’s just incredible – from memory, i believe you have a paid version of this in which i will be going to straight away – thank you very much sir

Quick question, have you done any in depth trial and error with custom permalink structures? I sometimes change the category base to a site keyword and always change the common structure so the post name is followed by randomly selected tag. I’m wondering if you have found keyword clogged url structures to be more or less benifital?

Jeff Johnson says: keywords in the url is good and i”ve used the category names and such, but there’s a problem with having too many keywords in the url.
If you are also using keywords in your post titles or title slugs you could end up with too many in the permalink if you also use them as part of your url structure.
I prefer to simply use the keywords in my titles and domain name so I have more control over them.

Also i thought i should share with you and yr plugin guru – i installed yr plugin on an already running WP blog v2.7.1 and the installation was no problems at all – the optimization meter hovers between 96% and 98%, even though you mentioned earlier it’s best to install this on a new blog – my blog must have slipped through the cracks somehow???
– i also changed the theme after the instal and somehow, my hit count increases still !
i certainly wish i had the money to attend yr seminar coming up May 16 – as yr methods and tools are most impressive
pls let me know if yr planning to do a seminar in australia in the near future…
