is there a way to use seo plug-in without altering the permalinks?.. I am already using the "“/%category%/%postname%/”" structure but I am interested in applying the tweaks you have set for the other plug-ins. I am already using them all..

Jeff Johnson: Yes, simply make the changes to the structure yourself, or use the permalink migration utility that is installed.

I installed the SEO software and I have to say I don't understand why your permalink structure is

"/%post_id%/%postname%/"

instead of:

"/%category%/%postname%/"

instead my URL being something like:
URL.com/searchengines/internetmarketing

it is:
URL.com/13/internetmarketing

Why do you prefer "post_id" over "category"

I regret installing this part and changing my permalinks.. I feel like i lost a keyword in the URL

Jeff Johnson: the permalink structure can be changed to anything you'd like, and even reveresed with the Traffic Getting SEO Plugin.

wordpress themselves advise against using /category/postname... causes issues with the speed of the blog.

plus, I choose not to do it for most people so they don't stuff too many keywords in the url.

But feel free to change it.

I am using hostmonster. I have installed wordpress but have no idea how to install seo-blog and ioncube.

I have uploaded and unpacked the zip file and I can find the ioncube directory.

I am familiar with unix(linux at home) but not sure what is required.

Bob.

Jeff Johnson: All the tutorials you should need are here:
http://www.undergroundtraininglab.com/tgsp-install/

Hi,

I think I am just being very stupid? Read the download instructions for SEO blog softwarr, but I still can't seem to get it right. The zipped file downloaded, but I can't open it or get the program to install on my computer. I have Vista on my computer and not sure if that is the problem? I don't have pre existng blogs, I am brand new at this.

Thank you

Jeff Johnson: Vista is fine. But we really don't have a zip tutorial for you. Please search google for "open a zipped file in vista" and you should find dozens of tutorials.
