Wordpress just released version 2.8 today, and it’s a major update.
And whenever they do that there are thousands of issues with plugins not being updated to work with the newest WP version.
Don’t worry; the free version of Traffic Getting SEO Plugin (TGSP) was updated weeks ago to work with WP 2.8.
In fact, my guys are actively involved with the WP testing and beta community so they always try to stay on top of stuff like this.
But if you don’t have the most recent free version of Traffic Getting SEO Plugin (TGSP) you may run into a few slight issues.
Here’s what you need to do to make sure your blog will work with Wordpress 2.8.
If you have already tried to upgrade to WP version 2.8 and you were given an error message by TGSP… simply install the newest version of TGSP and you should be all set.
If you have not tried to upgrade your blog to WP 2.8… simply install the newest version of TGSP and you’ll be all set when you do decide to upgrade to WP 2.8.
The newest free version of TGSP is version 0.4.8
Here’s how to get the newest version:
Important!
You must use the passwords I send out to the TGSP list.
I just sent out the newest passwords again.
Check your inbox for a message with subject line: “your passwords for new version of traffic getting seo plugin”
Why do I keep changing passwords for my free software and only send them out via email?
Simple… that way I know how to contact you and make sure you always have the latest version of the Free Traffic-Getting SEO Plugin… especially when there’s an important update to address like WP 2.8.
Plus I get to send you free tutorials, or more free software.
I may also try to sell you something once in awhile… but there’s no law that says you need to buy what I’m selling.
If you don’t like it, don’t buy it… simple as that.
I’d say reading my emails is a small price to pay for such great free stuff
If you can’t find the newest passwords in your inbox…
Please make sure you are on my TGSP list here:
Free Traffic Getting SEO Plugin
Once you join the TGSP list above… I’ll send the download instructions and the passwords right over.
P.P.S.
Get your free copy of the Traffic Getting SEO Plugin Professional Edition…
The Professional Edition is more powerful, and we teach you how to use it to grab more free traffic…
Just for joining my new Underground Training Lab 2.0.

Will your SEO Plugin work if I’m hosting on Wordpress.com? Oor only on external hosted sites?
Jeff Johnson: only external.
Natalie // Jun 11, 2009 at 4:13 pm
When I click on the link
2. Download the Traffic Getting SEO Plugin:
Click Here to Download Traffic Getting SEO Plugin
I only get a GIF image (ck.php), no software to download. What’s going on?
Jeff Johnson: Don’t know… I assume you are talking about on the password protected download page.
If so, I just tested in both IE 8 and Firefox and it is working.
Please update your browser software, or use a different browser, or check you security settings in your browwer.

To upgrade, do we need to remove the previous plug-in of TGSP and install the new version for it to work?
Jeff Johnson: Yes, deactivate, delete, install.
Our installation instructions should show that. If not,I’ll have the guys add it right away.
darren // Jun 11, 2009 at 4:46 pm
hey jeff,
i tried to upgrade and install the plugins with wp v.2.8 and it wouldn’t allow me to install any.
the msgs referenced compatibility with the previous version. the screen won’t populate with the v. 2.8 install button.
these are new blogs I’m setting up (no content), so i deleted wp v. 2.8 and went back to wp v. 2.7.1.
I’ll just wait until there’s been some more testing before I upgrade.

Jeff Johnson: My guys have updated TGSP blogs to 2.8, and built them from scratch with 2.8 and then added TGSP.
And my coaching clients have, too.
No issues have popped up on our end.
Sorry, but we just haven’t seen any issues.
I’ll be sure to post them if I find them.

Thanks for the update. Seems like I just updated to 2.7.

Hi Jeff,
I just wanted to make sure that the usability is not going to change correct? Should everything pretty much remain the same? BTW what you are doing is great keep up the good work.
Jeff Johnson: TGSP will be the same interface, but 2.8 could have a few differences. glad you enjoy it!
Chad Clark // Jun 11, 2009 at 9:42 pm
Hey Jeff,
I am assuming that is you that actually checks each post maybe not…lol If it is I would like to ask you a few questions, no it has nothing to do with coaching or anything.
Thank You,
Chad Clark

Actually, I am working on setting up some information for word press so I am giving this a try. I do have a question though, while I have not tried it yet, it does look promising. However, if I am building word press sites for others, would I be able to use this on their sites or is this something that people will have to purchase soon? I am sure you have the answer somewhere and I hope you will forgive me for asking if you do but I have been running like a one-legged man in a three-legged sack race lately and did not see it at first glance.
Either way, thanks for the opportunity to try something that looks like a really great tool!
Jeff Johnson: This free version of Traffic Getting SEO Plugin does not expire and can be used on as many sites as you’d like.

Will you free or paid SEO Plugin work with WordPress blogs enhanced with the Semiologic Theme? Please advise.
Thank you.
Jeff Johnson: I have no idea. The end goal of both is to get more traffic.strong>

Hi Jeff,
I got a copy of the Pro TGSEO plug-in as a bonus for Launch Tree and have tried it but when I try to download the various support plug-ins, the page won’t scroll and I can’t get to the top to download the plug-in! Is this a bug caused by Wordpress 2.8? Or am I using the wrong version of the TGSEO? (actually, which version is correct?!)
Thanks
Jeff Johnson: Here are a few questions for you from my team:
In regards to the download plugin page not scrolling, does the page load before downloading any plugins? Can you see the list of the plugins? Is this issue coming up before or after you install the suggested plugins? I’ve yet to see this error before so it’s difficult for me to assess what is going on. It sounds like a potential memory limit issue.

I installed this plugin on my website which is hosted by Godaddy and it was already up and running. I figured I’d try it this way first to save time.
No problems whatsoever. Thanks Jeff, I wish all software installs when this well. Who said it doesn’t work with Godaddy? Great plugin.
Rich Naran // Jun 15, 2009 at 2:08 am
First of all I just want to say I can’t believe someone would complain that a free tool they received cost them money to install. Well I have to tell you I just installed your tool in MY GO_DADDY test blog. I just use it to test installs of all types. I upgraded to WP2.8 first
http://thecreativityreview.richnaran.com/
It installed perfectly with no problem . It optimized at only 98.37 %
I may even use this blog for real now.
Jeff Johnson and Crew Thank You.

nice post,thanks…
Knilles // Jun 21, 2009 at 3:21 am
Hi Jeff,
I was wondering if the plugin also works for WP blogs in French, German or Dutch?
Or is it solely suitable for English speaking markets?
Regards,
Knilles
Jeff Johnson: It isn’t language dependent except for the instructions to use it are in english.
IJ Styles // Jun 22, 2009 at 8:48 am
Wow, thanks for sharing this. Looking forward to download your plugin and get tested.

Hi Jeff, I have been your follow of this free plugin since it came out.
I think this is the fifth version or so.
So far, I have no problem with the previous version. But this version, when I click Install Plugin, it will pop up a new window as per version 2.7.
But with this version, when the window pop up, the Install Plugin link was on the top of the window and I cannot see it.
I tried to drag the window down and changed browser but it was of no use.
Please advise. Thanks and have a nice day.
Jeff Johnson: We haven’t seen this issue ourselves, and only once or twice out of tens of thosuands of installations.
So it’s hard to track the issue down.
We’ve tested it in 5 major browsers for every revision.
But will see if we duplicate the issue for you and find a fix.

Jeff, I have an error here:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function gregoriantojd() in /home/dacomicx/public_html/memangmalaysia.com/wp-content/plugins/seo-blog/ext-lib.php on line 0
Do you know why it is happening to me? Got any clue?
Jeff Johnson: Sorry, but I don’t recognize the error code and my guys are off for the holidays.
The best (and fastest) way to start solving any issue like this is to ask your hosting company for help.

How do we tell the difference between the free and pro version – the pro version in the club has the same name and is version 0.4.8??
Jeff Johnson: The version number is the same but the functionality is different. We limit the installation of features in the free version.
Please ask the guys in the club tech support forums if there’s an easy way to tell.

New to Wordpress. Viewed your videos on youtube, bought a domain name, hosting and installed your SEO Plugin 5 days ago.
I also bookmarked 1 daily post at some 25 social bookmarking sites using Onlywire.
Day 5: I have two top ten Google listings for the main keyword phrase and had 105 hits to the site day 4. Cool right!!
Jeff; thanks for your efforts to share such free information, especially as I am currently without income.
Regards,
Ed Baker
Jeff Johnson: Thanks for the feedback…. always love hearing success stories… especially those that happen usin gmy software and training!

Installed MAX Banner Ads 1.4 plugin. Uploaded all files to server, permissioned them, activated the plugin and added banner and URL to MAX control panel. Banners do NOT display in sidebar. Any clues?
Jeff Johnson: Sorry, but I’ve never used max banner ads, and it is not one of the ones installed by Traffic Getting SEO Plugin. Please contact max banners for help.

I’m sorry to hurt you. In what way this plugin is different than that of All-in-one SEO plugin.
Jeff Johnson: It uses all in one seo as one of many plugin it installs and pre-configures it for you.
Traffic Getting SEO Plugin is a master plugin that controls the settings of 6 or 8 different plugins including all in one.
it also has my input for many of the default settings, and some other tweaks.

The Traffic Getting SEO Plugin is the best plug-in I have ever installed on my blog. I cannot say that I had a very great result but from having just 3-5 unique visitors to 40-100 visitors a day made me happy. It made a difference. Thanks Jeff.
