Newbies Go From Zero to 70k in 7 Days Case Study

Sorry folks, but this case study is no longer available.

The FTC has new testimonial  and endoresment guidelines that all marketers, both online and offline, must follow.

And I’m still waiting to hear back  from my lawyer about how I can use my testimonials and case studies in my business.

I’ll try to re-post this as soon as I can.

    Another great case study.

  • Daniel

    Jeff,

Thanks for the information and a great write up… Question …. What does it take to just make $50 to $100 dollars a day without the cost of PPC as I have tried everything and all are dead end Ebooks as really they all are or just have half the story and thus are a rip off and nothing but more BS HYPE…. Looking forward to your answer if you have one because none of the big boys have answered me yet and all they try to do is sell me more BS HYPE or give me some more free BS…. LOL …. Well give it a shot and Thanks….
    Daniel…

Jeff Johnson says: The best way to do that is create your own product and sell it through affiliates. I cover that quite a bit.

The other way is to create a few niche blogs in high paying keyword niches and post to them non-stop every day creating new content for the search engines and to attract visitors.

Not nearly as hard as it sounds.

  • Smilinsteve

I’m so discouraged! Every time I hear that someone has made 1000, 5000, 70,000…….in a short time….I saw that 22 year old girl on You Tube who makes over $107,000 a month! I know another girl who makes over $400,000 a year in Mona Vie!
Here I’m starving..unemployed painter…..broke musician………….I can work all day for weeks and not get anything….not one email….not one call….nothing.
I may be the perfect guy to use for a test or a example of what can be done……….or can it be done….?
I’ve spent 16 hours marketing the other day!!….10 years of learning ! Maybe I don’t have the marketing sense!
At the beginning I wrote an ad and made sales….
    maybe I made $250 a month………but nowadays I just don’t understand…..I really don’t get it.
    Aaaah well!

The best part… because of their success she didn’t have to go back to work… she gets to stay home with her babies and enjoy life

  • Kristie

Really interesting case study. Would like to explore more details in the freebie. Thanks, Jeff!

  • David

    Help!!!

Tried to download the FREE seoblog software!

    I get this message….
Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).

How can I get around this?

Jeff Johnson says: Just tell it to let you continue.

The password and username are not unique to you so you really don’t need to protect them.

  • Kendrick

Is there a transcript somewhere I can read in PDF? I am deaf. I could not be able to hear it. Thanks!

Jeff Johnson says: Sorry, we don’t have the transcripts and they normally take a week or more to prepare, so we don’t request them for everything.

We do provide written instructions, transcripts, and process sheets in the club but not for everything so there would be some huge gaps in your training if you can’t listen to the audios and videos.

  • Potato Richardson

    OK What now?
I don’t even know what a fdp is. This guy made 70 k in the first 7 days after launch, but how many days did it take him from starting to launch?

Jeff Johnson says: As long as it takes you to create a product, or pay some one to create it.

Could be a week, could be a month, could be a year.

It all depends on the person and the product.

    • ABrient

Jeff, what’s going on with you? Are you stressed or something? Getting rusty? I ask because that didn’t answer the question that Potato Richardson asked. How long did it take the person in the case study to prepare everything. It’s obvious that it will vary from person to person but for this particular case study, how long did it take. I know you know people like to know this information whether you agree with why or not doesn’t matter. If you’re going to present a case study people just want to know that information. Please answer the question. You could have at least did that before adding that other OBVIOUS stuff.

Jeff Johnson says: Gee, I must have missed that part of their comment. Doesn’t really matter since the message I’m trying to share with you is that they took action and they feel they succeeded, and so do I.

Buy the rights to a product and everything else they talk about can be done in a day… posting a video, social bookmarking, contacting potential affiliates, installing openx, setting up an auto resonder.. it can all be done in a day but most people would take longer than that since they have other things in their lives to deal with on a daily basis.

      It’s as simple as that.

So even if it took them 30 years… they are happy with their success, and so am I.

  • Lucinda

This is exactly the kind of motivation that I need to hear. Sometimes I feel like there is no way that I can ever reach my goal of making a full time living online, but stories like this one keep me working toward my goal.

    Thanks so much,
    Lucinda

  • Rika Susan's Flooring News

More inspiration to help us to keep on going… Thanks Jeff. I really don’t need to make 70k in 7 days to be OK. Just a fraction of that will be fine. When I hear about friends in office jobs who have been waiting for five years to get a raise, I am very grateful that I am in this business where I can ‘manufacture’ my own raise!

  • Elliot

Great testimonial for the skeptics. Following your teachings continue to inspire. As the expression says, If you believe you can, then you can. Thanks.

  • Abdul

Are you selling this software or what you said its free downdown but that never happen

Jeff Johnson says: Here’s all you need to do to get the free software:

    Click the bright orange button.

    SIgn up for the list.

Confrim your request to be on the list.

once you confirme the download link and tutorials will be sent to you.

  • James Ramsay

Great info. All practical tips that work when implemented correctly.

  • Peter

Great tip on the optin page vs. optin box.. i’m going to use that one for sure!

  • Robert Kennedy

Ok if they can do it, I should be able to make 140 k in 3 days. Somehow I doubt it though. I have created my own ebooks, built a list, built a membership site, write on blogs daily, promote affiliates, do all the seo I can think of and I have not even come close to any of those figures. Everything I do is far from perfect, but I would think that after all the work I have made, and all the advice I have followed I should be a internet marketing Rock Star. I still think it is a manner of time, but until I see some decent results I am not spending a dime on any product.

  • Terrance Charles

That’s impressive Jeff… That’s the power of internet marketing, going to $70,000 in 7 days.

Sometimes you just have to be desperate to really take control and take action, when you have nothing to lose, that’s when you’ll really try to make it work…

  • Ron Carmichael

    Hi Jeff,

Some brilliant take-aways & nuggets of gold in that interview.

I 100% agree with you on the information overload points you make. I have been through the same and got daunted with all the information.

Fortunately have learnt to ‘clear the decks’ and follow cearly defined steps.

I am just about to launch my STEP BY STEP FX training course, so let’s see if I can implement a number of the techniques you lay out.

I’ll keep you posted on developments & my success.

Thanks for all the really greta info.

Again, to all your readers, you absolutely need a clear step by step plan to follow. Mess around with some new ideas, them develop a process map for how to handle etc. Means once you understand, you then then delegate to someone else.

I have spent a lot of time learning, now starting to realise what is & isn’t important. So focus on good stuff & get other people to do … looking forward to getting to that.

Jeff, as you probably all too well understand, it is like trading. Have a plan!

    Cheers,

    Ron

  • ben barroga

    Hi Jeff

I am looking forward to purchasing your product.

Just a question… there is a ton of stuff on your blog right now, do i need to get through the blog
content before I purchase your product? Or is everything included in the product itself?

    Thanks …

Jeff Johnson says: the info on the blog is not even close to what is in the my private coaching club.

ANd the private coaching club is organized to take you through it step by step.

Not to mention access to me and my staff in the club to help you when you get stuck.

Much easier to follow, and much more comprehensive.

    Ben

  • Melissa Miller

I think a very important factor is picking a unique topic or a topic that you can bring fresh material to when creating an information product. Also, a big hurdle is just getting started! Don’t you agree, Jeff? It’s getting up early before the kids or before you go to work (or both) and just starting. Who cares about spelling and grammar at first–you can always fix those later or hire someone or have a teacher friend look over your book for you before distributing. Just start writing in manageable chunks each day and it will get done!

  • Alan Clark

    Well,

I just got up out of bed, got your email about this audio and listened to it whilst having breakfast.
I try to listen to or watch a video to do with marketing online every day when I get up.

Stories like this are pure gold dust to me.

Motivation is VERY high right now!

    Time to get to work!!!!

    Cheers

  • Bakugan Battle Brawlers Pack

I’ve used other seo optimised blog template and got good results with google. This seo optimised blog seems to be working well. I’ve downloaded your software. Time to put it to work…

  • Alan Clark

    I meant to say,

Michael Cheney pointed me in your direction. Between him, you and another couple of guys, I have went from knowing nothing to being very knowledgable. Great feeling to KNOW that if you keep copying those that are successful, learning and putting into action, that money will start coming faster and faster.

Also, I had a low spell recently where I lost focus. Wasn’t getting the results I was looking for. A change in mindset sorted this out though.

I felt I had failed, but all of a sudden I realised that I hadn’t failed. I now had a head start from the last time I tried. I would never be starting from scratch again.

Thanks Jeff, you can probably tell I’m buzzing the now, lets make some cash.

    Thanks for the emails.

    Alan

  • T

Im as new as they get.

-You suggest selling as an affilate, (amazon)
    what do I start with?
program? what would be my monthly cost?

..just to get me off the ground and bring in a few bucks a month, then pursue some more respectable money.

-In input woould be great, Thanks Jeff!

Jeff Johnson says: All you need is a site or profile page to put your affiiate links on, or distribute free articles so that’s less than $10.

I started out spending less than $200 a month and earning a steady 5 figure monthly income a matter of 5 or 6 months.

    ANything is possible, including failure.

But if you work smart you’ll be able to start for less than $100 a month (to cover hosting, autoresponders, etc)

  • Gerald Jimenez

Thank you Jeff, not only was it inspiring but I can see some of the areas where we could do some more work.

    Thank you

    Gerald

  • Clive Praed

To smilinsteve – you are the average.

This is not inspiring – it’s hype.

Don’t worry – all of these “case studies” are fake and just to con you into buying.

This “complete newbie” can use Camtasia, can use Powerpoint, knows all about using videos and social marketing, rotating banners (where did they come from?), split testing (that’s VERY advanced for a complete newbie).

Some fools will believe this – this guy sounds like a very experienced snake oil salesman.

I’ve been selling over 4 years and I can’t do any of that stuff.

My sales, this year, are less than $4. I have had 2 signups, though.

Mind you, I only have 4 websites and 2 blogs.

Mind you, nobody on my list has ever bought anything – people on lists only want freebies.

Jeff Johnson says: Wow… you are really jaded. I’m sorry for whatever has caused you to be this way.

I have multiple lists with people who sign up for free stuff… and I’ve always been able to make money with them…. to the tune of millions. And no… not all of them are in the learn internet marketing markets.

And I have helped hundreds of people just like you make good livings, sometimes great livings, on the net.

And the stories are true… or else I wouldn’t print them.

BUt then again.. I can tell you have already formed your opinion long before you met me… so not much I can do to help you. Sorry.

You’d be wasting your time in my club.

  • Pat Gunning

Impressive stats! Terrific coaching Jeff… this is coming from two long time internet business coaches…

  • Ian Seth

Hi, Jeff. This call is really interesting because Your student had a lot of success in a really competitive niche.

When talking about niches often times I hear that it’s not a good idea to go into the Internet marketing niche because there’s a lot of competition.
On the other hand there are lot’s of people getting into the I.M. niche everyday that do not know anything about the market.
I mean, they do not know You or Reese or Kern and so it’s seems to me that there’s space for everybody even though it would be very hard to compete on SEO and stuff.

What are your thoughts on that?
Should we advise anyone to go into that market or not?

I’m currently in the process of building my list by giving away 3 good quality videos on my optin page here:
    http://www.onlinemarketingsafepath.com

And what if I like to create the content and products? Should I still ghost write it so I can concentrate on the marketing side?
    Hope You see this…
    Thanks.

Jeff Johnson says: Plenty of room in any market to compete. .. whether you can do it effectively or make money is another story.

ghost writing is a great idea.

marketing is the most important part of our jobs, content creation can be farmed out for most markets.

  • Chris

OK it’s time to call them on thing like this. way is it all way some one like this? it’s never any one with a simple life. you know some like this ” a single mom with 3 kids no job and home less, but she made $5,000 a day”. this is a load of crap.

Jeff Johnson says: I have hundreds of testimonials and success stories… I’m sure there are plenty like you are describing.

FYI, I had a great, simple life when I started on the net… and I enjoy evey minute of my new one on the net :)

  • Scott Stroud

Jeff – Thanks for sharing the real-life case study with us. It inspired me to believe that I can do this, too.
2 qestions: First, I have a ton of audio and video sales training materials for the housing industry; will you program work to help me sell this top-shelf content?
Second, what equipment did you use to record this interview? It sounded great!

    Thanks,

Jeff Johnson says: Yes, if you have the content you can sell it… I met a few guys at a special JV deal a few weeks ago that sell millions of real estate via the internet.

The equipment I use is higher-end for the screen captures and telephone stuff.. but our wireless mic broke for the holiday updates.. so it was a total echo-chamber.

I use the edirol ua-25, digital inkeeper, and a AT 3035 mic for in-house recordings.

Potash, Mulligan and a few other guys turned me on to them years ago when I was getting started.

I step most of it down to 22k, 16bit mono for web delivery.

    Scott

I can’t download it all it shows is weird swirling colorful designs. Maybe that’s it you hypnotize us into thinking successfully. 4 yrs ago when I started with my ebay store I made more than I do now. There is so much competition out there I work my tushy off to barely break even it’s not worth it to me. I wish I could sell it but no one want to start with an inventory the size I have acquired..Discouraged!

You know the old saying if it sounds to good to be true, well that’s how these article make me feel. And all the help you want just wants you to buy more of there stuff on how to sell or make money(what do they sell beside the information) they tell you to buy this and that but you have to have some money to start with. I don’t want to be rich, I am disabled from pain 24/7 and just want to help with all the debt we acquired when my hubby lost his job after 28 yrs. I won’t go into anymore it’s a long story and this ahas already gotten to long!

Jeff Johnson says: The key is stop buying and start applying… execution.

  • Robert

    Ho wdo you get started?

    Hey Jeff,

I enjoyed listening to this case study audio. It was motivational and informative.

And, although I’m currently using WordPress (WP), I downloaded your Free SEO Blog Software. I don’t know if I’ll switch or not, because I’m very familiar with WP already, but I will at least check it out, along with your WP tutorials.

Thanks for everything and have a great, blessed day.

Jeff Johnson says: I really don’t know what to say. Please look around the blog and pick an area that interests you and start working towards a achieving your goal.

The videos about “how to create your very own info product” are a great place to start.

And the blog software really does work.

sign up as an affiiliate with amazon, pick a market, and build a blog to get started… that’s how I got my start.. building sites for affiiate programs and learning from my experience of building and promoting.

  • Michelle Jackson

This is awesome stuff , great learning

  • Yuri

That looked like Alwyn Cosgrove to me. Who did you interview?

Not a typical newbie example I’m afraid.

jeff Johnson says: Did you see the hundreds of positive “made money, worked great, got listed in 2hours” comments on this blog?

You sould also check out the testimonials page and the sales page… tons of 1k, 3k etc examples of success stories.

  • Deb Luttrell

I posted a comment and it has not been moderated. What’s the deal? I posted it before some of these that are showing. Seems to me there needs to be trust built here and not posting comments does not build much trust.

Anthony Montalbano says: Sorry we did not get to your first comment earlier. Jeff and I are both moderating comments, but I assure you, we are reading all of them. There’s a lot that are coming in and we do appreciate your words and feedback. I actually just responded to your last comment. We’re really busy make sure everything is ready for tomorrow :)

  • Michael

I would say that over the past 10 years I would have wasted close to $15,000 on systems and programs from so-called internet gurus. All of them had case studies and told us that we had been scammed before and their system was different etc etc. Many of those guys are still pumping out the same crap in a different box today. What makes this any different?

Jeff Johnson says: I’ve been running my online coaching club continuously for 3 years this month.

The big difference is that this is my club, and not someone else’s.

There’s a 30 day money back guarantee. If it’s not right for you, simply quit.

Sir I have been doing Online Advertising for the last 3-4 years. I have my blog with affiliate products. I have tried in Google Adwords but ended up paying for the number of clicks but with out getting any sales. I have tried with social bookmarking also but with not much success. Now I am trying writing articles for affiliate products. Kindly guide me how this can be done effectively. I reside in India.

Jeff Johnson says: Jason Potash has a great training program for article marketing, and a great piece of article spinning software. Here’s my link… Content Composer.. we use it to train our article people.

Thanks to technology ‘coz there are new and different ways on how to earn online.

  • Michael McQueen

    Thanks for the great recording.

In the recording he mentioned something about when he makes a post to put a H1 link with 3 or 4 main keywords heading to you main page.

Could you give me a little more info on how to do this?
ex. When he makes the post, he just goes below his post with the keyword links all included in the post.
I know how to make a link but how do you do the H1 link he was talking about?

    Thanks for the great information.

    Michael

    Jeff Johnson says: Simply use

    link goes here

but if your css doesn’t make the h1 appear smaller in the browser you have a problem…. too large.

    Try

    and

    tags, too.

A regular link will work, too.

  • Venkatesh Iyer

    Dear Jeff,
I collected all your e-mails, but I’m a bit behind reading and watching them. Please leave all your stuff on your Sites available, to not have the feeling, to have already missed something. On this page is your MP3 Player and your “Case Study” but it doesn’t work anymore.
Do you have some other “open place”, where all these things for Underground Traininglab are all maybe together available ? If all these things were on one page – videos, pdf’s and other,
it would be much more easy. Thanks.
    Much love, Thomas

I battle to download your free seo blog material.
Thefile seems to extract to a wrong archive every time.

I need to just download and install, but it seems to be an intricate process.

  • Taylor

You seem to really have some great material and interesting stories. I’ve been trying to make money online for about a year now and to be totally honest, I think I am heading in the wrong direction. —> Trying to make money blogging and with AdSense.

I will admit, this is the first time I have actually opened an email of yours, but right when I did, I became genuinely interested in this case study.

I’m pretty good at promoting my works. I guess my problem is promoting the wrong work. If I had created a Click Bank product way back when I began, I would’ve probably made so much more than I do off of AdSense.

    Anyway, thanks for the study.

    Jeff,
I have been wanting to make a clickbank product for a while, but I am stuck.

What do I make it about? Do I try something new or make a better one that has already been done?

Jeff Johnson says: ALways improve upon what is already selling well.

  • Anthony Wakefield

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to put my two cents in. I’ve just stumbled upon Jeff’s products today and blog after watching some of his youtube videos.

Firstly, for the jaded out there, i have single handedly taught myself from ground up how to make money online via eBay’s affilate program, creating custom blogs and advertising their products. In six months (not kidding), i’m now pulling in a steady $100 a day.

Now thats not a lot but i can see how it’s just the beginning. I’m now working on improving traffic levels, and Jeff has given me a single idea – to do write up’s on products that have JUST BEEN RELEASED, thus to get traffic flow, and make commisions when the product gets popular.

It IS possible to make money online. You need to be smart, & put a lot of intial time into it. It’s exponential, once you get going it really rolls. I now have 5 websites that pull in my income, it’s all about taking something that works, and duplicating it again and again.

Not everyone will succeed. Some people will give up to early. It just takes time…

Good luck, and keep on keepin on!

    Cheers,

    Anthony

  • G. - a Wealthy Affiliate Member

Jeff, great stuff in that audio. Thanks for sharing.

I could see from the responses that there are may people which can’t believe that this is possible.

BUT, let me say that if you really LISTEN to the audio, and I mean L.I.S.T.E.N, that you will hear that 90% off all that this guy was doing is following a Blueprint to the tip. And there is exactly where most do fail.

You don’t believe in yourself AND you don’t do what people teach. OK, I agree that many guru books are a pure waste of time as they don’t really teach something, or only a part of the game. Try to stay away from those.

But I’m very sincerely here, there is a lot of stuff you have to learn about IM, no push button cash to make.

BUT now it comes where the real secret lies in making money online, you MUST invest in a great learning resource and apply what you learn.

If it’s Jeff’s stuff here, the Wealthy Affiliates I’m a member at or any other serious resource.

And believe in yourself that you can do it.

I love hearing about a newbie earning big bucks because I am new, but still trying to generate traffic. How much is your coaching club? Thank you for all your helpful information on this site!

Jeff Johnson says: It should be somewhere around a few hundred bucks to get started.

I’ve had many newbies succees but it’s really up to the individual and how they apply what they learn.

  • stealth

I’m just surfing by as I do on occasion. Had a nice respite, listening to that recording + looking around your site.

know what you mean about parsing out small bits of information instead of all at once. I’m sure that you’re so fluid with the whole world of internet marketing you have to remind yourself what it’s like to not have any kind of framework for anything. It is kind of like being on another planet, all this at first.

Great to hear about your student’s success using targeted work, the right knowledge and vessels of dispersal.

may your 2009 be prosperous and full of revelation.

  • Neil

    Jeff

Are you going to be showing us how to monetize facebook in your coaching club.

    Thanks
    Neil

Jeff johnson says: Yes and no. I teach you how to use it and what works best to grow your traffic in a viral fashion.

And I teach you how to develop products, collect leads and convert leads to sales.

But I won’t teach you how to use facebook for spam or anything like that.

There is no single “make money this way on facebook” training. we teach you what works, how to tap into the viral nature of it, etc. But we don’t hand you a widget to sell on facebook or anything like that.
I teach you how to think about things in a more profitable fashion so you can go out and grow your own business over and over again.

If your not having success, its not Jeffs fault or the seo blog software. It took me 5 minutes to install the software, a few days to set it up, and in one month my website was 1# in the world for my keyword. Im in an extremely competitive market so this success is so amazing. By the way, I taught myself how to market online. NO FORMAL TRAINING… Thank You JEFF

    Hey Jeff-

I just got done listening to the interview, very insightful. I have checked out your blog a few times before and I just purchased Frank Kern’s Infomillionaire course.

If I were to ask just one question to any of you IM “gurus” I would like to know what the longevity of an info product is.

I realize there are external factors such as the market and quality etc., but most of what I have read seems to be about product launches and success in the short term.

Have you had success launching products that produce profits for years? Or is it necessary to keep developing products in order to maintain an income level?

I guess that is more than one question…one thought I guess. Any thoughts from you would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    John

Jeff Johnson says: product life has nothing to do with a launch.

A launch is used to kick-start the product and generate buzz and fast cash.

But i have products that have been out there for years.

It comes down to staying in touch with your affiliates and giving them a reason to mail.

Walker’s first PLF course sold for a $1,000 a pop very successfully for 18 months.

My club is about building a business, and launches are a good way to generate some extra cash and buzz… but you shoudl always build a business with the traffic you recieve.

Jeff, I am a complete newbie, and I have my own product, an all natural hair product, that I would to market online. I currently have a website designer rebuilding the site, and will completed in about 4 weeks. Can you help me drive traffic to my site and analyze the site to see if it is good for converting sales, once it is done?

Jeff Johnson says: There are different levels of service and prices.

The higher the price, the more personal access the members have with me.

Site reviews, daily private forum access to me, feedback on sales copy, etc is all part of the $5,000 level. However, that level sold out in June and then again in December and I really dont’ have room for more at this time.

The levels that will be open on Monday will have access to the exact same training material, the same daily access to the technical support forums and access to me via submitted questions and on the live coaching calls.

I don’t personally review each site at these levels since the lower price does not make it possible for me to do so; too many people to make that promise.

The step by step process sheets are used for training my own staff and are newbie friendly.

I also have dozens of hours of tutorials and videos of me sharing my philosophies on product development and affiliate marketing.

SEO, converting traffic to sales, etc.

I cover it all in the training material.

    And you can ask questions.

I just can’t guarantee a full-blown site review like I do for the currently sold-out “We do it for you” level.

I believe everything you need is covered in the training material since that is my focus.

So if you review the training material you should definitely benefit from it.

  • Calvin C Caldwell Sr

I don’t visit here very often but when I do, there seems to be great content to learn from. After reading every last comment, I find that I’m not alone in being somewhat unsuccessful after trying internet marketing for the past 4 years. I’ve returned pretty much all of the programs that promised how to make money and asked for a refund of each. For once I honestly would like to know in step by step format what you need to do to earn a living full time on the internet. That’s from zero to profitability explained using free and paid traffic methods. Obviously, people are making money on the internet, it’s just that many of us don’t know where to begin and some of us simply have come across information overload. The biggest problem I’ve ran into over the years is how to get massive traffic to my websites. Without the right kind of traffic no money is made. How do you accomplish that? Once again, who can you trust? I could go on and on about what didn’t work, however, I’d rather write about or one day instruct someone on how to put this all together step by step and actually see their first profit. That’s exciting! That’s for real! And that will keep people coming back because it works! Thanks for listening. That’s the kind of help I could use Jeff since I’ve never made a dime on the internet!

Jeff Johnson says: There is no single product out there that can teach you A-Z how to make money.

There are too many different things that you need to know, and most courses will assume you already do.. .such as FTP, copywriting, basic webmaster skills, etc.

You will have to work at it no matter which course you choose.

And they expect you to keep working at it to get it right.

All the traffic in the world won’t do you any good if you can’t convert it into sales.

Pick the wrong keywords, no traffic.

not enough quality content… no traffic.

Pick the wrong market, no traffic.

Get the traffic and you still need to convert it to sales.

But I can tell you this… if you have refunded every product you’ve ever purchased… you aren’t giving them enough time to work… and you are looking for the magic bullet.

There is no way you are able to see complete results in 30 or 60 days.

The MBG is designed to give you a chance to review the product and see if it is right for you.

I can’t imagine every product you’ve ever purchases has said “you’ll make a milliion in 30 days or your money back”. If they do… you shouldn’t buy them in the first place.

It sounds like your mindset is standing in your way.

Stop expecting those products to teach you how to make money and look at them as a piece of the puzzle… and start working on putting the entire puzzle together.

There’s always a ton of traffic… affiiate programs and PPC are two sources that are very, very powerful and don’t require your own sites to get a ton of natural free traffic.

Work on developing your offer and converting your traffic to sales.

    copywriting, marketing, market selection, etc.

    Those will be the key.

  • Brian Donley Worrell

    Hi Jeff,

I’ll meet you in a few days at the Seminar in Michigan. Man, I can’t wait for May 16!

Have a quick question about this case study (Mike Roussell, $70K in 7 Days). It really is very detailed, specific information – the opportunity to hear this type of information is exactly what I need.

Anyway, the question – he used a term I didn’t understand. Sounds as if he said “mechanical turk” (???), but I have no idea what he means. I listened to that sentence about twenty times, but I can’t figure out what he’s saying.

Can anybody tell me what he’s saying, and please explain what it is?

Thanks very much. And Jeff, don’t forget – first Lobby Beer is on me! :-)

    Thanks much,

    Brian Donley Worrell

Jeff Johnson: mechanical turk is an amzaon.com service I’ve recommended for years.

It’s a source of cheap labor for highly repetitive tasks such as photo tagging, research, etc.

They don’t allow us to do everything they used to, but still very useful.

    https://www.mturk.com/

    See you in Detroit!

    • Olivier

Jeff, When you say they don’t allow us to do
everything they used to what do you mean?

In the audio with Mike Roussell you said
we can’t ask people to post onto our blogs
anymore? I’ve been trying to find that on the
Privacy Policy and terms and conditions-►

      I can’t see it…

What major restrictions do they have?

Jeff Johnson: I’m not sure what you are referring to, are you asking about mturk? If so, they notify you personally if your request is something they do not allow. That’s how we found out.

  • Carlos

Hi Jeff, great stuff. I have a couple of questions I hope you can answer.

    1. Is there a website you would recommend to find good ghost writers for and ebook?

    2. How much is it to join the club and is it still available? Not the 1 on 1 but the forum club?

Thanks for all the great tools and information!

Jeff Johnson: I don’t use ghost writers but I have found editors and authors on http://www.ifreelance.com/ and you can search “ghostwriter” on google and finds dozens.

    Friends have also used elance.com

My coaching club is not currently open but will be sometime in June….. stay tuned.

  • Murthy

I have had enough of courses and all BS from many people. Still I want to give your advises a try as leaving things half way is not going to help me. SEO seems to be rocket science and getting in the top ten seems to be star years ahead. I mean it as a layman fedup with terms like PPC, CPC and blah blah, which I am not going to understand. Is it possible to reach the top 10 of google or yahoo without PPC or CPC? We Indians can’ t afford to get into the quagmire of PPC as our basic economy doesn’t permit to do so. Any encouraging answers Jeff? If I confide in you totally can you coach me to bring my above travel site to bring it to top 10?

Jeff Johnson: Yes, you can reach the top ten without PPC.. which is the point of SEO.

Bringing a travel site would require a lot of work from an incoming links standpoint, but if you choose highly targeted long tail keywords for your pages your job could be a lot easier.

I don’t hire out my services for working on individual sites per se but my training and material could easily be applied to your markets.

I want to go on record as extremely interested and curious. One of my best friends runs Internet Business Mastery and their subsequent Academy. I’m a film maker and recently found a course for marketing my independent film online which I’m slowly doing. But I’m both curious and very interested in how I can procure lots of sales of my movie through Jeff’s or IBM’s Internet marketing information. I know I have lots to learn and I easily get overwhelmed and frustrated. But I’m going to continue and I’m thankful that there are people like Jeff out there making this information accessible.

  • disillusion

Why aren’t there any real case studies of Newbie Internet Marketers that know absolutely nothing, totally green, without any one-on-one training or assistance, having to learn all on there own, how they follow a program and end up amazingly successful. Out of the dozens of dedicated marketers I’ve met and spoken to over the past years, none have managed to crack the code to success, as hard as they may be trying and as dedicated as they may be. I like many have lost their life savings purchasing ebook, programs and going to events that promise correct up-to-date information and good teachings. Are there any guru’s out there that REALLY want to help or is it just about the money for them??????

Jeff Johnson: I do have complete newbie success stories… and failures.

My guess this program isn’t for you since you seem to expect to fail before you even give it a chance.

My free stuff isn’t as step by step as my coachig stuff but hundreds, even thousands, have told me they have had success with it.

Please enjoy what you find on this blog and I wish you the best.

  • Joan

Thanks for the audio sounds great. I am totally new to all of this & had never blogged before. I googled wordpress & set up an account. Then I couldn’t find the “plugin” to click on to add your seo product to. I found out after searching all over the site that it is wordpress.org NOT wordpress.com that you have to register with. You also have to register on something else first before you can do THAT. There is a monthly fee to register first. Hope this helps the other newbies so they don’t waste a whole evening trying to figure this out.

Jeff Johnson: Yes, you need a hosting account, and there are free hosting account out there.. I just don’t use them… doesn’t mean they won’t work, though.

But you can get unlimited hosting for just a penny for your first month if you’d like to test it out.

Here’s a hostgator coupon for you that hooks you up with unlimited domains for a penny.

Like many others who’ve posted a comment on your blog – I too, am really new to the vast and complex world of Internet Marketing. However, as the saying goes………….if there’s a will, there’s a way. This industry truly does work – for those that have the tenacity to work it (despite any/all bumps and bruises and growing pains that come along with “learning what it takes to succeed” in any given endeavor. Thanks for your latest SEO plugin to generate free website traffic.

  • Ross

    Hi there Jeff.

Well you certainly sound like you know what you are talking about…but so have a stack of other so-called internet marketing experts I have diligently studied under!

After 8 years of diligently following rheams of advice from so-called “gurus”, studying numerous internet marketing courses, investing a sizable sum, I.. like so many others above, have never cracked even a smallish income stream on the WWW!

I have accumulated an excellent working knowledge of creating & building blogs, using a range of affiliate products, created many of my own e-products, SEO techniques, etc; etc; & here I am 8 years down the track still seeking the answer as to how a guy like the $70,000 in 7 days man cracked the code!

In one LAST attempt to be a success & actually make an income instead of a loss on the WWW, I will give your ideas & teachings a very devoted tryout…if your advice wont work, then I’m outa here!

    Thanks

Hi Jeff, You’ve really caught my attention. I have been trying for a year or so now to make money online and have only made a few cents on adsense only. • Samsung Televisions

I installed your all in one seo plugin into my e commerce store that I set up following niche blue print training. My keywords that I optimized for are both on page one of google position one through 5 for months. This is a highly competitive market with millions of competing pages so I have to say thanks to Niche Blue print for delivering their part of the deal. Unfortunately for some reason no sales and way less traffic than model would suggest. I have set pricing at a very competitive level-read just enough to cover shipping and put 50 bucks to the bottom line. Any suggestions. I thought you might have some key insight since you promote plasma tv’s . I focused on LCD’s. Any insight would be most appreciated.

Jeff Johnson: Actuall, all in one is not my plugin.

Mine is Traffic Getting SEO Plugin and specifically tweaks the settings for otehr plugins such as that.

I’d suggest contacting the people that sold you the course and ask for help since they know more about your objectives or those that they taught you.

But just off hand I’d say you need to focus on converting the traffic you have before spending too much time getting more traffic.

Capture emails by offering a free giveaway like a free tv and work on your follow up series for conversion.

All kinds of free content on this blog that covers such stuff.

  • Patrick

    Hi Jeff,

I have installed the free version. I am currently monitoring the traffic.

    But I have a question.
On the dashboard of my blog, I saw your ads appearing. Is there anywhere not to appear on the user dashboard?

Jeff Johnson: They only appear on the main dashboard.

Many of you probably already know most of what you need to make money online. The problem is usually no one wants to buy the product (yours or an affiliate offer) or you don’t have enough relevant traffic to get enough sales.

Another problem is that if you’re being honest you might have thrown up a few links on a blog or squidoo page and wonder why you don’t get any sales. Then you switch products or niches before anything has a chance.

The boring way to success is to post to a blog, social sites and make videos day in and day out, testing different products, doing keyword research. Over the past 6 months I’ve managed to ramp up to $608/month as of august, but the website has been up for a few years which I often ignored or didn’t follow through consistently. I have some email followers and youtube subscribers which helps as well.

  • AskMichaelHart.com

I think many people make the basic mistakes I did by not starting off simple by creating a blog on wordpress, getting a simple domain name, getting an attractive opt in form at the top right hand corner to capture leads, and then start working on your social media presence to build traffic to your blog to capture and develop a relationship with people that come by your blog.

But you have to make sure a) its a popular enough topic and b) people are willing to pay money for that information, course, coaching, product, or service.

I’m actually doing some videos to help break this down so people don’t make the mistakes I did. Jeff’s SEO plugin though is great to help optimize your SEO efforts. I’ve studied SEO like my life has depending on it and he’s got some good automated optimizations. (Wordpress is excellent for automating alot of yoru SEO if you know how to structure your content correctly).

Jeff Johnson: Sorry, but that’s not something I can do for my blog visitors. Once I do it for one, I’ll receive a request to do it for thousands and I’ll never be able to get any work done :)

There are plenty (dozens) of tutorials on or linked to from this blog… they’ll definitely be able to help you get more traffic.

  • Sam

Great tips n tactics, Jeff. But, have you a newbie success story that can’t speak English well ?
Where’s the best place to outsource – creating ebooks, membership site, etc ?
    Thanks for your help.

Jeff Johnson: At least a third of my clients are outside the US, but I don’t have a case study with 99.999% of my clients to begin with.

As for outsourcing… there is no single best source, or a short answer to that question.

I use amazon turk, freelance writers, people that already do what I need done, etc.

  • Weight Loss Diet

Impressive stats! Terrific coaching Jeff… this is coming from two long time internet business coaches…

  • Tom Westervelt

    1. Plz change the post title to show reality. False advertising is not good for internet marketers.
Took Him much more than 7 days to create a product, then pre-launch activities. People Are smarter the add title portrays and they will not trust your tactics when you lie to them.

Jeff Johnson: It’s not deceptive, they launched and did 70k in 7 days.

Headlines need to be short… that can’t possible tell the entire story. Novels have short titles and then they tell the story in tens of thousands of words and hundreds of pages.

Newspaper headlines are short, and the article tells the rest of the story.

The interview tells the rest of the story leading up to the launch

    • ABrient

Actually Jeff, it is deceptive. You did what a lot of people do that is nine times out of ten misleading. You’re a smart guy and appear in your videos to be honest and straight forward. So not sure what happened here. I’m sure you can see what that title conveys. The title should be along the lines of what you JUST said including the word ‘launch’ or something like “After Launch Newbies go from $0 to $70K in 7 Days.” Same amount of words and doesn’t tell the whole story. Your title could have even been like, using your words, “They Launched and did 70K in 7 Days!” That title conveys that there was preparation before launch that is not inclusive in the 7 days. You could have switched out the word ‘they’ for ‘newbies’ even if you liked. But that would have been accurate and much better especially for newbies.

You’ve been at this for long enough to know how people think. So I find it disturbing you have posted what you did in response to Tom’s comment as if that justifies your actions. The bottom line, your title is short but misleading and should have been typed as you put it in your response to Tom, “They launched and did 70K in 7 Days!” And it’s shorter than your initial title, but accurate and not misleading. The 7 days was about the launch period and not the preparation period.

If you, still, truly feel that your title is not deceptive, then people would have to wonder about anything else you say. I was referred to you by a relative, who even finds your statement off-putting. We all make mistakes but will you admit to yours? Or will you continue to stand by your statement and claim your title is not deceptive when it is in fact so. Your analogies cannot possibly be applied to this situation, but nice try.

Jeff Johnson: It’s a title, it’s not deceptive, the essence of the interview is that they did 70k from a launch, and I cleary cover all the work they did leading up to the launch in the interview.

I didn’t, however, mention that they were born, learned how to walk, talk, ride a bike, go to school, play baseball, etc. All very important events that led up to their being able to launch… so are those things I should also mention in the title?

Please enjoy it while you can, it’s an inspirational story but I plan on taking it down soon for other reasons… none of which have to do with the title.. it’s a great title and a great interview.

  • Allen

That’s a great audio… really like what you said about the opt-in form on your blog and how to boost conversions. Will be trying on mine.

Think I’ll also try the method you briefly describe from promoting a keyword that’s important.

    Quality stuff.

  • Michael

Hey Jeff, in regards to the internal Linking strategy (talked about near the end of the audio) is this only effective by picking one keyword/post to link to0 in every post or is it possible to get the same effect by using this strategy for more keywords/posts (lets say 3 for example)?

Will this work towards our benefit by letting Google know that all 3 keywords are very important to us to rank or will this confuse Google and ruin our chances with all 3 keywords?

    (Your internal Linking Strategy)

Jeff Johnson: I’ve use as many as four links pointing to my major blog categories, but one link is more powerful from a “pass PR” standpoint.

I am amazed at all the negative comments. When I fail at something, I just say, “well, that didn’t work, now I know not to do that” and go on to the next learning experience. Life is full of learning experiences. I don’t blame other people for conning me or misleading me. Be positive, folks: learn, try; you will either succeed or fail, but if you don’t learn or don’t try, you will always fail.

Jeff Johnson: What they don’t seem to realize is that even if they don’t use wordpress they can still apply the lessons I teach in the marketing tutorials to their own business..The SEO plugin is probably the least valuable thing I give them for free when they join my list.

And I agree… it is better to try and fail, and learn from your failures, than to never try for fear of failure.

You can’t succeed if you never try!

Thanks for the postive insights :)

    Hi Jeff,

I have a number of wordpress sites that I have installed Platinum SEO Plugin. Should I remove Platinum SEO Plugin before I install your “Traffic Getting SEO plugin” or will it work with Platinum SEO Plugin?

Great site and information.. I will be joining your club soon.

    Thanks,
    Stan

Jeff Johnson: I really don’t know.

All in one plugin is one of many plugins that Traffic getting seo plugin installs and I know “platinum” is a competitor of all in one so there may be many overlapping functions.

Plus we our own tweaks to the plugins and settings it does install.

    Hi Jeff,
I already have my product on CB but it’s not gotten to the level I’d love to see… I’m getting about one sale every 3 to 4 weeks :-(
I believe it has to do with the copy, and the price range… do you coach on that as well? Also, will your coaching program help ‘revive’ an existing product?
    Thanks!

Jeff Johnson: I don’t personally help write copy for my clients, but the Platinum Plus level of my club is where I would be willing to give you my feedback on your sales copy, your optin, your process, your price, etc.

There is content in the club about getting more affiliates, having a better launch, etc. But it isn’t a major focus of this program at this time.

Hi Jeff, I am brand new to this whole affiliate marketing world. What I’d like to find out is, I don’t have a product but would advertise for others instead to get me going.
What is the best way to get started? How can you locate products to market that are worth your time? What do you need to succeed or at least make some money right away? I have been in the MLM world for long, training after training, spent $1000’s if not $10,000’s or more on trainings. They have been great on my personal life but I am a bit concerned to spend so much on a program again.. Any info or guidance helps.

Jeff Johnson: Wow, you are asking questions that would take hours and hours, and hundreds of pages of content to answer correctly.

I’d say get started with affiliate marketing. You can actually start for free and it is possible to make money with spending almost nothing.

Once you learn how that works you can decide which direction is right for you.

My advice is to review some of the 76 videos I’ve posted to youtube, and to subscribe to my mailing list and follow my tutorials I send out for free.

That will definitely answer a few of your questions.

Damn FTC! Came here to be inspired. Well it looks like I have been anyway.

Read through all the comments and got the idea…as well as some useful tips along the way. Off now to put contentcomposerriskfree.com on my wish list and about to try and figure out what the heck an internal target page is. Thanks JJ for not wasting my time with crappy respun information that I’ve already figured out for myself.

Will search your youtube videos (handy!) next time I have an IM question.
