Thanks Jeff. I have listened to Ryan and Perry’s stuff and they have lots of good ideas but they seem to me to exeragerate everything a lot. Like Ryan saying expertvillage.com was the greatest site he has ever seen. I thought the expert videos were pretty lame. Didn’t look at them all of course but just my niche and I wouldn’t use them. Also said put a big orange ‘add to cart’ button to double sales. well it did nothing to mine. I will be interested to see what their google tips do to my click prices and page position which they talk right up but I haven’t tested yet. Anyway just my opinion, I’d be interested to hear what others think. I guess I am just getting fed up with over hyped internet marketing bull crap. No reflection on you though jeff.

Jeff Johnson: Thanks for the feedback.

But it goes to show that different markets and different lists respond to different offers and techniques.

Always test things out for yourself.

I’ve definitely been able to triple my open rates by changing the subject line.

And easily double, triple or quadruple click rates.

But sometimes I test things that I think will be huge winners.. and they are just big losers.

But this video image test definitely works for me, and for my friends… we’ve tested it tens of thousands of times :)

Great useful tip. I’ve seen an increasing number of squeeze pages using the technique and must admit that they do catch me a lot of the time! So I know the trick is effective. I will definately be looking to use the technique with some of my sites.
    Thanks again

    Tom

Hey thanks Jeff, great tip. Just implemented it on one of my niche sites, looking forward to seeing the results of the test.

Got the javascript code off your site you listed.

    Thanks
    Aaron

Great video Jeff! I use this and also test different pop forms.

One cool trick is to pop p the email from instead of the warning.

    All the best
    David

Jeff Johnson: Thanks for sharing the tip!

    Great Stuff,

I’d love to be able to support Ryan. That is a great trick. The price was more than I could swing at the moment. Maybe give the code away in exchange for an email? I’m a future buyer he’d like to have on his list!;~) Anyway, I got the code and look forward to the results.

    Thanks,
    Chad

Excellent tip Jeff and thanks for sharing it,
among all your good stuff here.

You’re my favorite Motown marketer… besides myself, of course!

Jeff, sir my hat goes off to you, not ONLY for what you do, but for what you don’t do: entertain un-informed and/or unfocused comments.

First, this is a great tip. Just as every key doesn’t fit every door, every tip doesn’t fit every situation. However, this tip has value.

The biggest thing that most commenters should be focused on is making sure their product or service provides that same type of value as this tip that you have passed on.

Sorry for the “rant” on your site, which I respect, but so many have attempted to “attack” the marketing, when their product is the problem.

If your product is the equivalent of a “clothes pin” in 2009, marketing tips won’t help…
